Glenn Marais played both our engagement party and our wedding (the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) and we would not have had it any other way. Prior to this we saw Glenn and his band at a number of other functions, and they are consistently fantastic every single time. Glenn is an incredibly talented singer and musician, and a wonderful human being. It is really obvious that these guys love what they do and care about your event being special. It can be difficult to please everyone when you choose a live band, but if you hire The Glenn Marais Band everyone is going to be happy and have an incredible time. We got married in September 2018, and our friends and family still haven’t stopped talking about how amazing the music was. When planning our wedding we decided that good music was the most important part, and we could not have been happier. All our best memories surround Glenn’s music, including one sing along, and one cover of Purple Rain that might have been better than the original (do NOT leave this off your list). Of course, outside of this Glenn is professional, kind, responsive and such a pleasure to work with. No reason to look any further for a band!

We had the privilege of having the amazing Glenn Marais Band play for my son’s wedding.

The evening was a HUGE success due to their excellent skills, music selections and their contagious enthusiasm giving the evening a very FUN feel.

I was lucky because I already knew about Glenn’s band and knew how wonderful he and the band are.   I was introduced to Glenn and his band by one of my best friends who hired the band to play for many years for an annual charity event.  Each and every year that Glenn played made the evening awesome!!!  Everyone enjoyed their talent.

So it was easy for me to advise my son to immediately try and book Glenn for their wedding, which he did.

We even had a chance to check out their play list and we were able to make requests for the evening.

Not only that, but when I approached Glenn and asked if it was at all possible for me to sit in (on drums) with his band and play a couple songs with them, without hesitation he said he would be happy to work with me on that…. and not only was it a HUGE hit with our family but more important…  it was a surprise for my son and daughter-in-law which really added to the entire evening.  My son will have that memory forever and I’m thrilled beyond words that Glenn made it so easy for me.

As great as the evening went…. that’s not all….  because during the ceremony Glenn played absolutely beautiful guitar music.

I am not one that writes reviews but when you find someone as wonderful as Glenn (and his band) you want to share your thoughts so someone else can benefit from working together with him.

My best memory from that day/night is the beautiful music played during the ceremony and watching the people attending the party dance the evening away.

I can’t say enough…..  Thank you Glenn (and band) for one of the best nights of my life!!!

Review

Glenn Marais and The Mojo Train played for us at our wedding in September 2021. I found this band at a local brewery and remembered them for their funky vibe, incredible talent, and ability to connect to their audience. After seeking them out, I was delighted to learn that they play at weddings and just had to book them for our special day. Glenn was so easy to contact and communicate with and helped me plan the set lists for all the songs we wanted to hear. On the day of the wedding, the band came into the venue, set up, and were ready to play on time. They completely rocked the dance floor and were a highlight of our night – we didn’t want them to stop playing! Family raved about their talent and asked for their contact information. I hope to see them at our family events in the future! I would highly recommend Glenn and the Mojo Train to anyone who seeks out a rockin’ band! I look forward to seeing them play again at our local brewery and have asked to be kept in the loop with all the great things this band does for their community. You don’t want to miss them!

Recently, my husband and I had the pleasure of having The Glenn Marais Band play at our wedding. We cannot say enough about the talent, skill and dedication of this wonderful group. 

In preparation for the event, Glenn was timely and flexible in working with us to plan the set list. The music was a great mix of contemporary music and the classics, and included tunes for all ages. He helped us plan for the music and timing of the ceremony and reception, and he listened to and accommodated our needs. It was clear to us that he was committed to helping make this event a special one.  

On the day of the wedding, Glenn and his band were professional, unobtrusive and very helpful with set up. Their music added just the right ambiance to the cocktail hour. After dinner, they got our guests up and dancing through the evening reception. It was truly a pleasure to see our guests having such a great time. 

Months after the event, friends and family still comment on how exceptional the band was. They were a highlight of the event, and we would highly recommend them for any social or corporate event.
