Hello, I am
I consider myself to be a writer first and foremost. I am a songwriter, poet, author, and playwright. My love of music has driven my career and in particular my songwriting and guitar playing to where I consider myself to be an artist. Not just a musician, but an artist with the capacity and ability to organize and connect people and create projects on a large scale that ultimately seek to benefit and enrich the lives of people in my community.
I am driven by the desire to help people, to make their lives better and in the process, my own heart has grown and gotten bigger and my art and music have flourished. I am always working on numerous projects at once, but my main focus now is a follow up album for Glenn Marais and the Mojo Train, a delta blues gospel record and musical play, entitled Jook, a follow up to my first book of Poetry, Dance with Fear, Live in the Light, entitled Life Makes a Pretty World, my first novel and a brand-new conscious clothing line, Maraispeak that features my own motivational quotes and excerpts from poems in customizable designs.

His is a soul that soars above the fray of life, and lifts peoples’ spirits and lives to betterment through his commitment to building a better, more compassionate world through engaging students in the arts. He has a gift for writing and inspiring. His core values of caring, equity and inclusivity continue to guide him in making a positive difference in the lives of those with whom he interacts. I know Glenn to be a person of great integrity and passion for all of his work. An artistic leader of Glenn’s calibre seldom comes around.”
The Black History Month presentation by Glenn Marais and his band “The Mojo Train” was an outstanding learning and entertainment opportunity for our students at Bogart P.S. Staff and students were both singing and dancing to the wonderful music. Students also reflected on how much they had learned about black history through the multi-media presentation and the explanations that Glenn provided. It was an incredibly engaging event. We look forward to next year and recommend it to all audiences.
Glenn and his group are just outstanding! They have an important message to share and they do it by engaging students with music and stories. Our students loved the show and talked about it for days. This group never disappoints as they teach and entertain!
Glenn Marais and his band performed Black History: The Music and The Message for Charlton P.S today and the message was powerful! They celebrated black excellence by sharing stories of triumph, humanity, equity and social activism while playing powerful music pieces that inspire change and kindness! The performance was interactive, informative and a must see. Book the 3 piece band, you won’t be disappointed.
I had the pleasure of attending one of Glenn Marais’ sessions and I was so impressed! He knew how to create a presentation that would sustain the attention of middle school students, all while delivering a very important message. The mixture of terrific music, an important message, and an interactive style made for a great presentation. Thank you!
We were so pleased with the inspiring Music In Mind presentation in 2020 that we asked them to return to our school for another show in 2023.
